Resume Services
This program helps to remove barriers to training and employment for individuals with permanent disabilities. By focusing on individual ability and goals, plans are formulated and implemented for focusing on an individual’s desired outcome. Through partnering with community employers, participants may gain employment, greater independence and self-sufficiency.
These services assess a person’s vocational, educational, social and physical functioning levels. These levels are matched with individual interests to give an overall picture of the career best suited for them. A person-centered approach is utilized to assist in determining their vocational assets and limitations, thus allowing individuals to make informed vocational and career decisions.
The Driver’s Education program utilizes specially trained instructors who cater to individual needs. The service assists individuals in feeling comfortable during lessons and focuses on building self-confidence. The services are available to the general public, as well as to individuals who may require more specialized training and/or equipment.
The Indiana Manpower Placement and Comprehensive Training program is designed to help people secure gainful employment while learning to address key barriers that affect their long-term employment. Services include training that addresses life skills, job skills, and parenting skills. This program is provided in Crawford, Dubois, Harrison, Lawrence, Perry, Spencer and Washington counties.
Having a great resume is one of the most important components of a job search. Research shows employers spend an average of 15 seconds scanning the hundreds of resumes they receive. Blue River Resume Services offers individualized services in the professional preparation of a resume, cover letter, thank you letter and reference page. All services are available separately or in a career package format. In addition, Resume Services offers interview coaching and resources.
