Community Resources

Our Community Resources Department provides the following services:

In-Home Services

In-Home Services provide support to consumers and their families in order to assist them in achieving their ultimate goals to live and participate in their communities. Services are provided in eight counties, Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Lawrence, Orange, Scott, and Washington and include community and residential-based habilitation, respite, personal services, and attendant care.

In-Home Services plays a crucial role in the efforts to prevent institutionalization. Services are provided at home, work, school and in other places within the individual’s community. Instructors work with consumers on a wide variety of areas, including personal care and safety, leisure and social activities, decision-making and self-advocacy.

Habilitation

Provided for persons who are in need of improving and acquiring developmental and life functioning skills, this program offers training activities to assist individuals in developing and improving independence. Personal needs, social and community awareness activities are taught in real-life situations. Through person-centered planning, the program focuses on the person’s needs, desires and strengths in all areas of their lives. By identifying an individual’s goals, an Individual Service Plan can emphasize skills needed to achieve them.
