Country Trace Apartments:
This complex offers affordable and accessible housing for seniors in Palmyra. The development consists of 6 one-bedroom apartments and 22- two bedroom apartments. Each apartment includes a pantry, walk in closet, washer and dryer, as well as full appliance package, refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. The complex also has a community room, exercise room, a computer for tenant use, a beauty salon, bus shelter, and a gardening space for tenants. The senior center is next door to the complex and offers activities for seniors.
One building was selected to be the first LEED for Homes certified apartment building in the state of Indiana. What this means for tenants is that this building was specifically designed to go above and beyond to provide more efficient and environmentally friendly apartments. Autumn Ridge Apartments:
5 units are handicapped accessible. The development provides two playgrounds for children, one that is fenced for toddlers. The development contains an exercise room, a basketball court and a walking and bike path, along with a community room and laundry room. Many of the apartments contain a washer and dryer. The development is in a rural residential setting, less than one mile from retail stores and the interstate. Blue River Housing purchased Oakview Apartments in September 2003 as an effort to preserve safe, affordable rental housing. The buildings consist of 14 two bedroom units, 2 of which are handicapped accessible. These apartments are located close to Corydon Schools. The rehabilitation included new heating and air conditioning systems, new water heaters, new doors and windows, new carpeting and flooring, all new appliances, and upgrades to the plumbing and electricity. Oakview Apartments received additional renovations in 2011.
All apartments contain washers and dryers and microwaves, along with major kitchen appliances. The parking lot is paved and with outside lighting. Hoosier Hills PACT provides intake, case management and financial education classes to tenants of Hope Manor and Jill's House.
Stepping Stone Apartments:
Stepping Stone Apartments provides rental housing and supportive services to young adults (ages 18-25) that find themselves homeless due to multiple barriers. Rents are minimal. To apply for housing contact, Case Manager for Youth Services at 738-4902.
