DRIVER'S EDUCATION
READY, SET, GO!
The driver’s education program at Blue River Services uses an innovative approach by personalizing services to meet individual needs. Using specially trained instructors, the program includes one-on-one training to promote safe driving skills and build confidence.
We offer driver education services to the general public. Students must be 15 years of age or older to enroll in our program. For more information, call 812-738-3198.

Package 1
30 hours of online instruction, 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training, convenient pick-up for students at their home, school, or work for each driving lesson.
Total cost $415
Package 2
Additional driving lessons beyond the included 6 hours can be scheduled for $65/hr.— $390 total cost for 6 hours
BRS Driver’s Training Steps
1. Register and pay online or in-person. (Student must be 15 years of age to register.) You must make an appointment to register in-person by calling 812-738-3198. When paying in person, Blue River Services will accept checks or money orders ONLY. There will be a $35.00 charge for any checks that are returned for insufficient funds.
2. Once registered, BRS will email a copy of the Certificate of Driver Enrollment (CDE) Form to the email on file.
3. Take Certificate of Driver Enrollment form from BRS to BMV for the permit test. Students must also bring two forms of ID, such as Birth Certificate and Social Security Card, plus two proofs of address. (Eg. Report card, bank statement, doctor or dentist statement, etc.).
4. After obtaining permit, student will log 50 hours of driving with parent/guardian or other acceptable family member. Must complete log of Supervised Driving Practice form.
34 hours of daytime driving
10 hours of nighttime driving
6 hours driving with the instructor
5. Students will not drive with an instructor until after the online course is completed AND proof of 30 hours of supervised behind-the-wheel driving has been completed. Students can email their Log of Supervised Driving Practice form and a copy of their permit to driversed@brsinc.org
Keep a copy of the online course certificate of completion for yourself; you will need for MV.
6. Instructor will contact the student when it is their turn to drive with the instructor.
7.Instructor completes Driver Training School Course Permit; gives to student to take to the BMV.
8. Student takes the skills test with the instructor for additional fee of $35 or schedules at the BMV. If the student passes, the instructor will provide a Permit Completion Form. The student will then take the form to the BMV and get their license.
